Swedavia and Bockasjö form joint venture in property development
Swedavia, via the subsidiary Swedavia Real Estate, signed a contract today with Bockasjö AB for the continued development of logistics properties at Göteborg Landvetter Airport. The contract entails the formation of a joint venture and, as a first phase, the preparation of land for the construction of logistics properties corresponding with around 100,000 square meters.
Property development within Swedavia takes place in the subsidiary Swedavia Real Estate AB. The development aims to generate value for the company and thus facilitate growth of operations and allow for more travelers at the airports. Together with logistics and property developer Bockasjö AB, an agreement was signed today for a comprehensive joint venture partnership for the development of Landvetter Logistics Park at Göteborg Landvetter Airport.
The agreement entails that together, the parties will develop the area around Göteborg Landvetter Airport with regard to the establishment of logistics. In an initial phase, 170,000 square meters of land have been prepared, facilitating the construction of approximately 100,000 square meters of completed logistics facilities for tenants in logistics, as well as other players looking for large spaces for warehousing and offices.
“The agreement is an important step in the continued development of Göteborg Landvetter Airport as a hub for travelers and logistics in the region. Bockasjö AB is an extremely professional partner and we believe we will thereby be able to exceed customers’ expectations for modern, efficient logistics buildings; good infrastructure; and proximity to other companies and services,” says Karl Wistrand, CEO of Swedavia Real Estate AB.
“Based on the flow of goods and customer demand, we believe there is significant potential for the development of highly efficient logistics and distribution facilities here. The agreement with Swedavia gives us the opportunity, together with Swedavia, to establish a logistics park in an easily accessible, dynamic area that is directly connected to one of the Nordic regions biggest airports, northern Europe’s largest port, and national highway 40, which is the main artery between Gothenburg and Stockholm,” says Joakim Hedin, CEO of Bockasjö AB.

“We are very much looking forward to the partnership between Swedavia and Bockasjö bringing the plans at Landvetter Logistic Park to fruition. Airport City Gothenburg’s development, which will create thousands of jobs, is incredibly important for the entire region,” says Charlotte Ljunggren, airport director at Göteborg Landvetter Airport. The detailed plan for the area is expected to have gained legal force by summer, whereupon comprehensive excavation work will begin for the entire area. The first property will be move-in ready in spring 2017.
