Sportshopen is expanding with the addition of a new automated warehouse of 24,300 m² in Sörred Logistikpark

Platzer and Bockasjö’s shared JV company Sörred Logistikpark welcomes Sportshopen as a tenant. The Swedish sportswear and leisure group is establishing itself in a newly constructed logistics building comprising 24,300 m² of commercial premises at the Sörred 8:12 property in Sörred Logistikpark. The agreement runs for 10 years and includes a ‘green’ annex. Completion is scheduled for spring 2023.
Platzer and Bockasjö have signed an agreement with the sportswear and leisure group Sportshopen, which is establishing itself in a newly constructed logistics building comprising 24,300 m2 of commercial premesis in Sörred Logistikpark. The lease agreement runs for 10 years and includes a ‘green’ annex. The logistics building will be environmentally certified in line with BREEAM-SE Excellent and will be equipped with a 500 kW photovoltaic system. The expected handover date is 1 May 2023, with earlier access to certain areas on 1 March 2023.
For Sportshopen, the expansion means bringing together parts of the company’s logistics operations at the same time as opening a new office. This is due to the Group’s rapid growth in e-commerce and planned store expansion with increased demands for short lead times and efficient delivery flows.
“By setting up a new automated warehouse, we will shorten lead times and provide an improved service to both our e-commerce customers and our stores. We will also reduce costs and create better customer experiences. This is an ambitious investment that is an important step in our continued expansion,” says Johan Andgren, CEO of Sportshopen.
Sörred Logistikpark boasts an attractive logistics location close to the automotive industry and the Port of Gothenburg in the Torslanda area. Including this lease to Sportshopen, the JV company has leased a total of 47,200 m² of commercial premises during the first half of 2022 from the logistics park’s total 135,000 m² of commercial premises.
“The demand to become established in Sörred Logistikpark is great, and we are pleased to be able to announce our second establishment so quickly, which confirms the great interest in the area. Sportshopen is a fast-growing group and we are delighted to be part of their success story. We are now constructing three buildings simultaneously, totalling around 90,000 square metres, all of which will be ready for occupation in spring 2023. Talks are ongoing about further establishments in the area,” says Joakim Hedin, CEO of Bockasjö.

SÖRRED LOGISTIKPARK is a Joint Venture (JV) between Bockasjö and Platzer, with each party owning 50%. Together they will develop 135,000 m² of attractive logistics space in the Torslanda area on the Sörred 8:12 and Sörred 7:21 sites. Within the JV, Bockasjö will act as the business developer and Platzer will subsequently become the sole owner and manager of the completed properties on market terms.
