On Wednesday 25 May, the ground was broken for the first building in Sörred Logistikpark.   Bockasjö and Platzer were present together with the tenant Schenker Logistics, and the Chairman of the Building Committee Hampus Magnusson. Schenker Logistics is moving into 30,000 m² of commercial premises on the Sörred 8:12 property on Hisingen in Gothenburg. The building will be certified according to BREEAM-SE Excellent.

“It feels great to be breaking ground at Sörred Logistikpark together with Schenker Logistics. We are pleased to be able to deliver a tailor-made product that will enable their continued growth in the Swedish market,” says Joakim Hedin, CEO of Bockasjö.

Schenker Logistics is one of the leading providers of global logistics services for industry and commerce. The investment at Sörred Logistikpark is part of the company’s growth strategy and well timed to meet increased customer demand.

“As we have a lot of customers who have grown and need more storage space, the timing of Sörred Logistikpark was perfect for us. In addition, the property’s design and geographical location give us exactly the advantages we are looking for,” says Håkan Nydén, CEO Schenker Logistics AB & Head of Contract Logistics Cluster SE/DK.

The building at Sörred Logistikpark is certified to one of the highest sustainability standards in the industry – the BREEAM-SE Excellent environmental rating, which sets high standards for both materials and energy performance. Schenker Logistics’ lease, which is for 10 years, also includes a ‘green’ annex. This is an important tool in the future cooperation for both Schenker Logistics and Platzer, which will be the long-term owner of the logistics park.

“Through a green annex lease, we commit to working with the tenant to reduce their carbon footprint. Allowing both sides to make demands is crucial to making a real difference. We are now looking forward to working together with Schenker Logistics on these issues,” says P-G Persson, CEO of Platzer.

“The fact that the lease has a green annex where we will work together with the landlord to reduce our carbon footprint fits in well with our sustainability work,” says Håkan Nydén, CEO of Schenker Logistics.

Sörred Logistikpark is located on Hisingen in Gothenburg, close to the Port of Gothenburg and the automotive industry. Hampus Magnusson, municipal councillor and chairman of the building committee, sees investments in logistics, and establishments such as Sörred Logistikpark, as important for both the Gothenburg region and the rest of the Nordic countries.

“Gothenburg has the largest port in the Nordic region, which not only handles a significant proportion of Sweden’s own imports and exports – the port is also important for Finland and Norway. And Gothenburg is set to become the logistics hub of the whole of Scandinavia,” says Hampus Magnusson, municipal councillor and chairman of the building committee.
