Together, pension company Alecta and property group Bockasjö are forming a new, joint logistics company in order to build a significant portfolio of logistics properties in strategic locations throughout Sweden and the rest of Scandinavia within five years.

The new company will be called Logistikfastigheter Sverige AB and will be equally owned by both parties.

“This is about having a logical and smart solution with which both parties feel secure,” says Joakim Hedin, CEO of the new company, and who will also continue in his current role as CEO of Bockasjö AB.

As its first deal, Logistikfastigheter will purchase three large properties from Bockasjö AB. They comprise a total leasable space of 116,000 square meters and are strategically located at Landvetter Airport, in Arlandastad by Arlanda Airport, and along the E6 in Helsingborg.

The newly formed Logistikfastigheter Sverige AB has signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement with Bockasjö AB that gives the company the option for all of the new logistics facilities that Bockasjö AB will build in the future. Bockasjö has a major portfolio of planned projects, including the construction of five large logistics properties in connection to the Port of Gothenburg.

Alecta is Sweden’s largest pension company with managed assets of approximately SEK 730 billion. Alecta is a mutual company owned by its 2.1 million private customers and 33,000 corporate customers.

“This partnership will provide us with exposure in the interesting logistics sector and with an experienced partner like Bockasjö, we have every opportunity to expand our joint company,” says Thomas Dansk, Asset Manager at Alecta and chairperson of the newly formed Logistikfastigheter Sverige AB.
