Extensive partnership with Eskilstuna Municipality

Bockasjö and Eskilstuna municipality have signed an option agreement for approximately 159,000 m² of land at Eskilstuna Logistics Park. As a result, Bockasjö will be able to offer efficient facilities in a prime location for logistics and distribution in the Stockholm area and Mälardalen.
“Together with the municipality of Eskilstuna, we are well equipped to meet the needs of e-commerce for storage capacity, and to phase out old buildings and replace them with more efficient premises,” says Joakim Hedin, CEO of Bockasjö.
The area, with a favourable exposure position on the E20 highway, is adjacent to Bockasjö’s existing logistics property of 23,000 m² which is leased to Sportamore. The plans of project include two buildings of 27,000 and 31,000 m² respectively.
E-commerce in Sweden is expanding vigorously, with a rise of 16 percent in 2017 and an expectation of doubling that figure within five years. This growth is driving the need for modern logistics facilities near the end customer to ensure shorter delivery times and same day delivery. Some 3.5 million people can reach Eskilstuna Logistics Park’s unique location within one hour, and across the Nordic region, within one day.
“We are looking forward to Bockasjö’s offensive initiative which will consolidate Eskilstuna’s position as one of the country’s most important and expansive logistics hubs,” says David Hofmann, CEO Eskilstuna Logistik and Etablering AB.
Bockasjö is in a robustly expansive phase and will be delivering 112,000 m² of newly produced and leased logistics areas to the market in 2018. Over the course of the year, three logistics buildings were constructed and completed at Hisingen Logistics Park. Bockasjö has therefore built 80,000 m² of rentable area on 310,000 m² of a large land site acquired in 2015. Sweden’s most modern package and postal terminal has recently been completed with a rentable area of 27,000 m², and in Västerås a new postal terminal of 5,000 m², both with PostNord as the tenant.
