In January, R40-terminalen AB acquired 82,000 m² of land in Viared from the City of Borås for the construction of a warehouse and logistics terminal. The land area is one of the last big areas that the City of Borås can offer in Viared. 

DHL Nordic AB will rent the property which consists of a rentable space of 48,000 m². There is the possibility of building a further 10,000 m². Construction began in May this year, and the property is expected to be completed for successive occupancy in autumn 2009 and fully operational from 1 January 2010. 

DHL is one of the world’s largest logistics companies. The company has annual sales of approximately SEK 600 billion and has 400,000 employees in over 220 countries.

“The location at Viared is perfect for us and we get access to a property that is tailored to our needs. This means that we can consolidate all of our operations in Borås in one place. Approximately 150 people will be employed at the warehouse in 2010. It also gives us great opportunities for expansion,” says Bengt Bylund, Head of DHL Freight Storage in Sweden. 

The Bockasjö Group operates in property management, property development, investment in forests and asset management. The company participates in a number of property development projects in Dubai in addition to some wholly owned and partly owned properties, Bockasjö Skogar invests in forest properties in Latvia and has so far acquired 2,400 hectares of forest land. 

The Group’s managed capital amounts to approximately SEK 500 million.
