Bockasjö and Kilenkrysset lease a 37,500 square metre new logistics centre to Åhléns

Property development companies Bockasjö and Kilenkrysset have signed an agreement with Åhléns through their jointly owned company to build a new logistics centre totalling 37,500 square metres located in Rosersberg outside Stockholm. The logistics centre will be rented by Åhléns on a long-term lease.
The groundwork will start immediately, and the new highly automated logistics centre will be ready for occupancy in late autumn 2021. The new logistics centre will be owned by the company that Bockasjö and Kilenkrysset own jointly with a 50% share.
It will be possible to expand the logistics centre with an additional 10,000 square metres. The investment in construction, including the extension, totals approximately SEK 650 million.
“Landing such a big deal in these difficult times is a sign of strength in many ways. We are looking forward to Åhléns becoming our partner and the tenant of this new logistics centre that will be environmentally certified after construction according to the BREEAM IN USE standard. Photovoltaics are a natural part of this property’s environmental installations,” says Joakim Hedin, CEO of the jointly owned company with Kilenkrysset and CEO of Bockasjö AB.
“This is our second deal in a short period of time in our jointly-owned company, and we are delighted to strengthen the collaboration between Bockasjö and Kilenkrysset, as well as our collaboration with Åhléns,” says Jan Persson, Chairman of the company that’s jointly owned with Bockasjö and owner of the Kilenkrysset group.
“We are looking forward to getting started on the construction of our new automated central warehouse and are pleased to be able to work on this together with Kilenkrysset and Bockasjö. Through the new venture in Rosersberg, we will have a state-of-the-art automated warehouse solution in an optimal location, that enables quick and efficient deliveries to our customers, which is an important part of our strategy to becoming a leading digital marketplace in Sweden,” says Gustaf Öhrn, CEO of Åhléns.

“The coronavirus pandemic has hit job opportunities in Sigtuna municipality especially hard as the travel and tourism industries are the two most severely affected sectors. It is therefore extremely gratifying that Åhléns is choosing to build its new logistics facility with its 300 jobs in Rosersberg, providing much-needed job opportunities in the municipality. Our long-term and good relationship with the company continues to bear fruit,” says Olov Holst (Moderate Party), chairman of the municipal board in Sigtuna.
