Bockasjö and Kilenkrysset hire out a new 29,000 square metre logistics centre to KICKS
Property development companies Bockasjö and Kilenkrysset have signed an agreement with KICKS through their jointly owned company to build a new logistics centre totalling 42,000 square metres located in Rosersberg, outside Stockholm. A long-term lease has been signed with KICKS, who is leasing 29,000 square metres of the new logistics centre. The remaining 13,000 square metres will be leased to another tenant.
The groundwork will start immediately and the new highly automated logistics centre will be ready for occupancy in autumn 2023.
The new logistics centre will be equipped with solar panels and will be environmentally certified according to BREEAM.SE with an Excellent rating.
KICKS’ main reason for moving to a new logistics centre is to secure an efficient, scalable and sustainable logistics solution in all the company’s markets, while creating the conditions for continued profitable growth as it expands further. KICKS’ investment in the new omni-warehouse is expected to exceed SEK 200 million, including a new automated solution to improve handling efficiency. The new logistics centre will serve KICKS’ own stores in Sweden, Norway and Finland as well as the growing B2C e-commerce segment.
“We are delighted to be partnering with KICKS and contributing to their success story and future strategy,” says Joakim Hedin, CEO of Bockasjö AB.
“This is the third property within a short period of time that we are constructing together with Bockasjö in our jointly owned company. We are pleased that our collaboration with Bockasjö is intensifying, but also pleased to be collaborating with KICKS,” says Jan Persson, CEO of Kilenkrysset AB.
“After months of preparation and hard work from all of the teams involved, we are very pleased to announce that we are now taking the next step in KICKS Supply Chain Transformation and that we have reached an investment decision that will future-proof the KICKS business. We are really looking forward to starting the implementation phase of the new warehouse in close cooperation with Bockasjö and Kilenkrysset, as well as other companies,” says David Heeroma, COO of KICKS.
