BOCKASJÖ AB BUYS LARGE AREA OF LAND IN GOTHENBURG – BUILDS A LOGISTICS PARK
Property and development company Bockasjö AB is acquiring a large area of land comprising approximately 300,000 square meters in Gothenburg. The area is located on Hisingen along the Hisingsleden highway, near the Port of Gothenburg.
The large area of land will enable the construction of five large logistics buildings, with a total leasable space of approximately 160,000 square meters for tenants in logistics, as well as other players – occupants who want more space for warehousing and offices.
In total, the investment will amount to approximately SEK 1.1 billion. “Gothenburg and its surroundings comprise the hottest logistics area in Sweden, due to the geographic location, excellent infrastructure such as the largest port in northern Europe, Göteborg Landvetter Airport, a strategic road network, a large natural flow of goods and a long tradition in logistics.
“We’ve had inquiries about more establishments in the Gothenburg area in the past year, which we were forced to turn down due to a lack of attractive land. When the opportunity to acquire this area came up, our decision came quickly. The need for modern, environmentally certified logistics buildings, with a more efficient configuration including higher ceilings, more gates and less energy consumption is rising without interruption as e-commerce grows by around 30% each year. In addition, more and more operations are choosing to outsource the warehousing function, which creates a need for more warehouse buildings,” says Joakim Hedin, CEO of Bockasjö AB.
